Data Lineage
Table-level data lineage is a data movement map that shows the complete chain of data transit from initial sources to target tables and data marts.
Within the platform, it is built automatically based on flows and allows users to:
- See which source tables a specific data mart is built from.
- Understand which other processes and tables will be affected by a change in the current table's structure.
- Quickly find the root cause of failures by tracing the entire chain of flows back to the source.
To load the graphical model, navigate to the Data lineage tab, select a Connection and the object under investigation, then click one of the three buttons. The system can build a graph where the nodes will be tables, flows, or flows expanded into advanced flows. The advanced flow view provides more detailed information about the flows.
